Well, I decided to start a blog. I'm writing this from the hospital room where my son is recovering from emergency surgery.
The first couple weeks of Jonah's life have gone quite smoothly, until yesterday.........
He was his normal self until 10 o'clockish and then it all went south from there. He began to cry like I've not heard him cry before. Being a new mom I had no idea what was wrong with him or what I could do for him so I just started to cry right along with him. :)
Come to find out later in the afternoon he had incarcerated hernias on both sides of his lower abdomen. After sitting in the ER for 3 hours and finally seeing the surgeon Jonah went under the knife and returned drowsy but healed. After a long night sitting in an extremely uncomfortable "recliner" Jonah is feeling much better. He was able to eat and keep his food down and even go to the bathroom.
I know I am new to all this mom stuff and let me tell you I think I cried just as much as Jonah did yesterday, but as we were sitting in the ER and while they were poking and prodding on him, I was suddenly very aware of how Mary, the mother, of Jesus must have felt watching her son being beaten and hung on a cross. My son's pain was minimal compared to our Savior and wow, I was just in awe once again of what He did for me.
I hope to have enough time to write each day or at least a couple times a week. So many I know are excellent bloggers and I hope to become at least proficient.
Stay tuned for more.....................
